Chicagolicious 101: Windy City Blow Out
Mondays 9/8c on Style
Style Network expands their line up with the new show Chicagolicious. Â This show takes the “licious” from Jersey and serves it up with Chitown flavor.
Last year when I was managing the Salon and Spa at Saks Fifth Avenue on Michigan Avenue, I remember producers casting for hair salons in Chicago, which makes me think that perhaps AJ’s of Chicago is who they chose. Â Although I’ve only seen the premiere episode I’ve already fallen in love with 4 members of the cast, which for me is a lot for a reality show.

I love Austin Maxfield’s hometown charm and beauty. I love Katrell Mendenhall’s ambition. I love MaCray Huff’s sense of style (those statement earrings are fabulous). I love Niki Robinson’s state of being, so centered.
The first episode put a lot of emphasis on blogging being the new media press, to which I absolutely agree. Chicago blogger Candice Jordan tweeted that she is routing for MaCray and loved his outfit. Which was exactly my thoughts. Â Homeslice can dress!
@macrayyhair YOU were just too adorable for words last night & I loved that bow-tie pin and raccoon tail!So there AJ!:-)

In addition, to the show being about beauty, I love that it is filmed in Chicago. Â Its really cool to see how they edit the show because I know the places they film and I try to reverse engineer how to produce one myself. Â Which inspires me even more to create my own show. Â I look forward to this upcoming season of Chicagolicious.
